The example of Ukraine suggests the front lines would get frozen and the conflict devolve into a drone-based war of attrition

Except Ukraine is and was a more heavily militarized country than canada and had eight years to prepare to fight russia again. If you try to copy and paste one conflict onto another without thinking, just makes you look ignorant

And the US had drafted plans in the early 20th century (although with no real intent to execute). This article is meant to examine the hypothetical. How would they do it? What would be the repercussions? Etc. A thought exercise, inspired by recent rhetoric.

If it were a direct confrontation, with air strikes on bases and infrastructure, geez maybe a few days? Possibly followed by some guerilla warfare. That was the lowest probability of my 3 scenarios, however. I also considered a Canadian and even provincial strategy of appeasement to prevent/mitigate confrontation.
