Wonderfully written. Currently Venus is the brightest heavenly body, easy to spot. A little above is Jupiter, not as bright and a little smaller due to distance. Then slightly above is a crescent moon.

Note: And those names have not changed! In ancient times planets and stars were both referred to as stars....
