Never mind the jobs these will replace. Frankly, that's the least of our concerns.
I'm more worried about the number of people who will be defrauded or blackmailed. I'm more worried about the fake declaration of war by a head of state. Or perhaps a false announcement of new sweeping tariffs, put out by someone shorting the market. I'm worried about the ex boyfriend threatening his girlfriend with fake revenge porn.
The unscrupulous often push the edge of technology, if profitable to do so. Already, families are receiving fake ransom calls from loved ones.
We're not ready for what comes next.
Even though these are over the top AI, there are enough people out there that will fall for these type of videos if they are marketed correctly. Unfortunately critical thinking skills have gone by the wayside.
What do you expect from exploitative predators? Only thing you can do is tell the people you know to be more critical of media they find on the internet and to be wary of strange phone numbers w/ familiar voices.
